2026-27 Alabama State President
Caroline P., your newly installed Alabama State President, here! N.S.C.A.R. Regionals and Nationals are always a highlight of my year. I reconnect with friends from all over the country and meet new ones. It was an HONOR to be the American Flag Bearer for the entire National Convention. Although the swearing-in at Mount Vernon was rained out, it was still a great experience to be sworn in by National President Will Elston in the Grand Ballroom. Afterwards, we took the opportunity to go with my family to take photos at the Jefferson Memorial, which made the day even more special. I am so excited to explore the National Theme. You can be sure we will have plenty of tie-ins here in Alabama as we explore the role of children during our Revolution.

2026-27 Alabama Senior State President
Alabama had a productive year of “Growing and Building.” I was proud of Lydia at the National Convention. At every turn she was complimented for her enthusiasm and kind spirit. Madam State President did an excellent job giving her state report to a packed room. Alabama did our part to learn about Dr. Warren and share his great legacy. The best news of the weekend came when we all learned that Lydia earned the GOLD State President Award. This was amazing news and has set us up for success in the coming years. It feels like we figured out a formula for this accomplishment that has felt out of reach for a long time. I could not have asked for a better member to partner with this past year!
Coming our way are many new adventures and changes. The new administration, both in Alabama and at the National level, are busy with the work of the society. The torch has been passed to our new State President, Caroline P. and I am incredibly proud and excited for her. I have no doubts that she will be a great leader for our State Society.
The 2026-27 A.S.C.A.R. state project and theme "Where Liberty Dwells, Liberty Blooms" will support the work of the Benjamin Franklin House. This home is where Franklin went from a loyal British subject to an American revolutionary. Built in c. 1730 and located in London, it is the only surviving house where Franklin lived. The home even served as the First de facto US Embassy. It now hosts over 14,000 visitors a year who learn more about where Ben Franklin DWELLED as LIBERTY BLOOMED in America. The state society will raise funds to acquire artifacts for display in the museum. The initial goal is $3,000. Visit our state project website for more information and to make a donation to the project.
This year marks the 250th anniversary of our nation's independence. I cannot wait to see how our Alabama societies will celebrate this once-in-a-generation milestone! I challenge our members and senior leaders to enrich their C.A.R. experience by attending our state workshop and the state, regional, and national conferences.
